PARC receives a delegation from "Christian Aid-UK"

PARC has received in its head office in Gaza, a delegation from "British Christian Aid", the delegation includes all of Mrs. Joanna Rogers, Mr. William Bell, Mrs. Hanan El-Maso, and their consultant in Gaza Mr. Azzam El-Saqqa.

This visit come in order to see the results of qualitative research prepared by PARC, on how to protect livelihoods in the security buffer zones during the past five years, this research funded by "Christian Aid-UK", the delegation also made a field tour to hold meetings with farmers from those areas.

PARC team pointed out that this visit came in order to view the research results, to knowledge the implementation mechanism in the field, and make professional comparisons about the agricultural situation in Gaza Strip, and then transfer this true picture, experiences and problems faced by local farmers in those areas, to the farmers in Britain in order to create interaction and communication between both of them.

From the other side, PARC team accompanied the delegation in a field trip to some of the security buffer zones represented in Beit Hanon, Shejaeya, and Juhr El-Deek area, where the delegation met a number of farmers who have been subjected to the research study, and others outside the study benefited from the projects implemented by PARC, in order to find out research outputs and convert it to similar inputs, and a mechanism to develop it to serve the farmers and commensurate with their abilities, and to develop mechanisms to intervene by the pressure, advocacy, and establish approaches of which currently being implemented and what will be implemented in the future.

PARC team mentioned the bright picture presented by the farmers of those areas to the visiting delegation, as they show a full of determination, an insistence to stay on their lands, the ability to withstand, keep their land away from ruin and abandonment, also they show their strong willing to re-plant it, despite the difficult situations they suffer from, which turned them from the rich to the searchers for a living aids.
