The delegation of agricultural relief returned back from a visit to the Netherlands and France

The agricultural delegation returned to the Gaza Strip from a work visit to the Netherlands, and France, the delegation includes all of Abdel Karim Ashour, Deputy Director of the agricultural relief and staff of the draft export crops and the global gap projects , and members of the cooperative societies and some of the export crops farmers.
Mr Ashour expressed that the visit aimed to learn about the circumstances of the Palestinian product marketing in Europe where the visit contained several exchanges of flowers and markets of the Palestinian flowers and strawberries, also the visit included a trip to the production nurseries of flowers and monitor its working mechanism and the extent to what it can be applied in the Gaza Strip and to identify other types of Flowers and study the possibility of production in the Gaza Strip in accordance with the requirements of the foreign market.
On the other hand Mr. Ashour noted that, the visit resulted in a meeting with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France about the political and public affairs of the Gaza Strip, also the delegation held another meeting with the Committee of Solidarity with the Palestinian people and some of the pioneers of the navy to lift the siege, which will arrive Gaza the meeting studied details of the visit and arrangements For the reception of the fleet in the Gaza Strip.

The Agricultural relief started a training course for new agricultural engineers in a partnership with the Japanese Foundation "CCP" .

The Agricultural relief started a training course targeted agricultural engineers recently graduated as part of "Project to support and strengthen the agricultural sector, training and promotion of ways of the sustainable environmental practices," that implemented by the Japanese campaign for the Children of Palestine "CCP" in partnership with agricultural relief and funding from the Japanese government.


The engineer Ibtisam Salem Director of the Department of programs and projects pointed that the project aims to promote self-reliance and food security in the Gaza Strip, through the implementation of a number of activities to build the capacity of agricultural engineers and farmers, and the production of agricultural seedlings with good strains through the establishment of vegetables nurseries and the distribution of seedlings to the civil institutions and schools.


With regard to capacity-building, Mr. Neimer Ayesh the project director said that "The project is working to build the capacity of" 20 "agricultural engineer fresh graduates to support their expertise and their knowledge and acquire new experiences in agricultural work and production, and open the prospects to help them find jobs through receiving intensive training addresses a variety of administrative, agricultural and livestock production and food industries and uses of water topics in which the focus is on the practical side for ten months. "

Mr. Ayesh added: "The project is working to build the capacity of 60 farms and farmers to support the scientific and practical knowledge through three training courses in a variety of agricultural areas and the use of modern technology to improve production and quality and thereby improve their economic situation for three months.

He also noted that the project includes the establishment of Nurseries to support small farmers and farmers affected by the Israeli invasions of recurrent and provide them with Seedlings and seeds which will produced in the nurseries this will contributes to the promotion of adherence of the farmers to their land and the continuity of cultivation being the only source of income, in addition to providing schools and public places with trees to improve the surrounding environment



The Agricultural relief calls to intensify efforts to confront the pest affecting agricultural crops vegetables

Agricultural relief Called for the concerned and responsible agencies and the Ministry of Agriculture and non-governmental organizations working in the agricultural sector to work on a confluence of efforts to face the agricultural insect which spread north of the Gaza Strip and that attack vegetables crops and corn plants also called for quick action to confront this danger and protect agricultural crops from damage

During the inspection visit carried out by the technical committee from the agricultural relief to the inspected areas the spread of this insect was noticed,
farmers of that region mentioned that the insect has spread 48 hours before in the northern areas adjacent to the Green Line , also they mentioned that the insect was seen in the Bedouin village in north of the Gaza Strip. The insect has begun to attack the weeds and leaves in vegetable crops including potatoes, melons and corn planted in the region.

the committee noted that the insect is formed of a different that start small sizes of less than 1 cm and up in length to more than 7 cm, and the larvae of different colors and is currently feeding greedily on the families of the herbal plant associated with crops of vegetables and corn plants , the committee explained their fear of that this insect turning to attack fiercely crops in the region.
