PARC
implements treatment and re-use of wastewater project in the
West Bank and the Gaza Strip

PARC starting from it's awareness of the
problem of water in the Gaza Strip and the
West Bank, the Agricultural Relief is
implementing a project to address and
re-use gray water to irrigate home gardens
and establishment of greenhouses in seven
agricultural sites in the Gaza Strip and
the West Bank, funded by AECID through
CERAI.
Ibtisam Salem, the director of the
programs and projects in Gaza stated that
the project works on grey water
treatment(, showers, kitchens, laundries)
and re-used for home gardens irrigation,
which contribute to the improvement of
environment in rural areas in addition to
improving food production and contribute
to the strengthening of food security.
Mohammed Abu Giap, the project coordinator
in the Gaza Strip stated that : "With
regard to the Gaza Strip ,we work in two
sites Abasan and Khirbet Al Adas in the
governorates of Rafah and Khan Younis, to
establish ten home treatment plants for
greywater and set up (6) Greenhouses of 90
square meter and the Installation of
networks to irrigate home gardens of the
beneficiaries.
He also stated that six stations in the
area of Abasan was done completly and held
eight awareness lectures provided to the
children of both genders in schools about
the use of water, in order to create a
generation consciously aware of the
importance of water and how to use, he
added that work is underway to complete
the construction of stations in Khirbet Al
Adas.
He also noted that the project includes
four training sessions for beneficiaries
in the target villages, addressing
sanitation systems and methods of
treatment and installation of irrigation
systems implemented in the project sites.
